In the period of 5-13 of September, the crew of RARA AVIS, including Alexander Koulikov, Arkady Sverdlov, Sergey Briuzga, Sergey Mazur, Andrey Shikin and Artiom Zheleznov, was taking part in the ROUTE DES ILES, Marseille (France). Traditionally, this regatta is the last 4th stage of France Championship in M 30 class. This time, only ten boats were going to take part (nine French boats and 1 Russian boat). The fact that there were few boats can be caused by tight competitions schedule during the year, and only crews that had something to struggle for came up to the final of the France Championship...

The last start of the season was something special. It was interesting not only because after that day we could summarize our work during the season, but also because the event had a high status – it was Saint-Petersburg Championship. The champ participants were very skillful and experienced: Ara was helmed by Andrey Nikandrov, who planned to take part in the first three of six races. After that, he was to be replaced by Anna Basalkina. Nouvelle Caledonie was also steered by professionals – the boat was rented by the Bellamer team (Santer-760), including Alexey Mourashkin. And for the crew of Vadim Statsenko this start was the last one before the World Championship. Totally, 8 boats took part in the event...
